DPRK and Cuban leaders, King of Cambodia send best wishes on National Day

Party and state leaders of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Cuba, as well as the King of Cambodia, have sent best wishes to the Secretary General of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith, joining Lao citizens in celebrating the historic 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao PDR.
Message from the General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Kim Jong-un:
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations and warmest greetings to you and, through you, to the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the Government, and the people of Laos.
Throughout the past 50 years since its founding, under the guidance and leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the Lao people have made outstanding achievements in their efforts to safeguard the fruits of the socialist revolution, strengthen the people’s democratic system, and build and develop the country.
I would like to express my confidence that the friendly relations and cooperation between our two parties and countries will continue to be further enhanced in accordance with the consensus reached at our summit meeting in Pyongyang, and I wish you good health and great success in your duties of responsibility.
Message from the King of Cambodia, Norodom Sihamoni:
I am delighted to extend my warmest greetings and heartiest congratulations to you and the Lao people on the occasion of the National Day of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
The Kingdom of Cambodia places great importance on the close friendship and cooperation between our two countries. These relations have developed and strengthened over the years through extensive cooperation in many fields.
I am pleased with the constructive role of our two countries in cooperation within the ASEAN framework for peace, stability and prosperity in the region, as well as cooperation within the Francophone framework. On this occasion, I am very pleased to welcome the participation of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in the Francophone Summit, which will be held in the Kingdom of Cambodia in 2026.
I would like to wish Your Excellency good health and success in all your endeavours, and to wish the Lao people happiness and prosperity.
President of the Supreme Council of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, also sent best wishes to President Thongloun Sisoulith, saying “On behalf of the Supreme Council of the Kingdom of Cambodia and on my own behalf, I extend my warmest congratulations to Your Excellency and all the friendly Lao people on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.”
In addition, the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Manet, sent his best wishes to Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, while Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Prak Sokhonn, conveyed best wishes to Laos’ Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Thongsavanh Phomvihane.
Message from the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Diez-Canel Bermudez:
To Comrade Thongloun Sisoulith, Secretary General of the LPRP and President of Laos, on the occasion of the Founding Day of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, I would like to extend my warmest greetings to you.
The Cuban people would like to join the brotherly Lao people in celebrating this significant day for the Lao people to determine their own future for the benefit of humanity. The bilateral relations between our two nations have been closely intertwined for more than 50 years, based on friendship and mutual trust.
On this glorious occasion, I would like to reaffirm our firm determination to continue to strengthen the close ties between our two parties, our two peoples, and our two governments.
The Prime Minister of Cuba, Manuel Marrero Cruz, also sent best wishes to Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, while Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, conveyed best wishes to Lao Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Thongsavanh Phomvihane.
