Assurances and BCEL One bring insurance to your fingertips

Assurances General Laos and Banque pour le Commerce Exterieur Lao Public launched a new online insurance service on Thursday to make buying insurance easier, faster and more convenient for people across Laos.
The launch took place in Vientiane, where representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of the Lao PDR witnessed the signing of a partnership agreement between the two organisations. The service is now available through the BCEL One application.
Acting CEO of Assurances General Laos, Dr Sengaloun INMYXAY, said the partnership marks an important step in using modern technology to improve customer experience.

She said the new service allows people to buy insurance at any time through a platform they use every day.
Under the new service, customers can buy vehicle insurance from Assurances General Laos in a few simple steps. Users can select Assurances General Laos in the insurance menu, choose a product, enter their personal details and vehicle  information, and receive their contract immediately. This helps protect people from risks and reduces the financial burden from accidents.

She said customers no longer need to visit an office or complete lengthy paperwork because the BCEL One app provides quick access to Assurances General Laos’ insurance products. People can also receive instant coverage once they have made payment.
Dr Saengaloun said the launch of “full-scale online insurance sales through BCEL One” is more than a new sales channel. She said it is part of a wider effort to improve the quality of life for the Lao people by making protection more accessible.
Deputy Managing Director of Banque pour le Commerce Exterieur Lao Public, Mr Nanthalath Keopaseuth, said the partnership adds value to the BCEL One app by allowing users to manage their finances and insurance needs in one place. He said this cooperation will support growth for both organisations as they work to provide the best service to society.

Banque pour the Commerce Exterieur Lao Public launched the BCEL One app in 2013. The app now has more than one million users, equal to about 90 percent of mobile banking users in Laos. It has become one of the most popular digital tools for daily transactions, including money transfers, bill payments, and payments for goods and services.
Mr Nanthalath said Banque pour le Commerce Exterieur Lao Public will continue to develop better digital products to meet public demand. He thanked Assurances General Laos for its trust and partnership and said both sides will keep improving their services.
Management teams and staff from both organisations attended the ceremony, which marks an important milestone in the digital growth of the insurance and banking sectors in Laos.
