Phu Bia Mining celebrates 308 long-serving employees at 2025 Long Service Awards
Phu Bia Mining (PBM) has recognised 308 long-serving employees through its 2025 Long Service Awards, celebrating the dedication and loyalty that continue to underpin the company’s operations in Laos.
Ceremonies were held at Phu Kham on December 2, Ban Houayxai on December 3, and at the Vientiane office on December 9 to recognise these employees. At these events, 135 and 155 employees received long service awards for 10 and 15 years of service respectively.
The company also proudly honoured 18 employees who reached an exceptional 20-year milestone.
This year marks the eleventh edition of the Long Service Awards. The programme embodies Guangdong Rising Holding Group (GDRH)’s FAITH philosophy - Focus, Actions, Innovation, Technology and Human-oriented values.
These principles guide the growth of a diverse, multicultural and responsible business that provides sustainable value across Laos and the region.
As part of PanAust and GDRH, PBM is committed to the belief that its people are its greatest strength. Their skills and commitment underpin PBM’s ability to operate safely and efficiently and to contribute meaningfully to national development.
To date, PBM has invested more than US$1.1 billion in capital in Laos and these awards reflect the positive attitude of the workforce which recognises that the investment in training, equipment and infrastructure, and world-class safety compliance combine to continue to make PBM an “employer of choice” in Laos.
PBM employs more than 3,500 people, with 93 percent being Lao nationals, and has more than 1,000 contract personnel. Beyond mining operations, PBM has contributed more than US$1.18 billion in direct benefits to the Lao government, while generating an additional US$3.5 billion in indirect economic benefits through local suppliers, contractors, community development funds, public road maintenance, and other initiatives.
These contributions underscore the Company’s long-standing commitment to supporting economic growth and creating sustainable opportunities not just near our operating site but across all of Laos.
PBM remains dedicated to fostering a supportive, empowering and high-performing workplace that allows people to build long and rewarding careers.
The Managing Director of Phu Bia Mining, David Reid, who also received a 20-year Long Service Award this year, said the celebrations were a proud moment for the Company.
“Reaching these milestones is a remarkable achievement. It reflects not only personal commitment, but also the strong culture we have built together,” he said.
“I am honoured to stand alongside so many colleagues who have dedicated a significant part of their careers to Phu Bia Mining. Their service strengthens our business and sets a powerful example for the next generation of employees.”
PBM extends its congratulations and appreciation to all long-serving award recipients and looks forward to celebrating more 10-, 15- and 20-year milestones in 2026 and beyond.
