New AIS preschool set to raise standards for early learners
The Australian International School in Vientiane made a major step forward in early childhood education in Laos with a groundbreaking ceremony on Friday to mark the start of construction of its new preschool.
The ceremony formally began an ambitious project to build a world-class preschool designed to offer one of the highest-quality early learning programmes in Laos.

The new facility aims to set a new benchmark for preschool education through modern design, safety, and child-centred learning spaces.
Member of the National Assembly, Vice President of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and President of the Sengsavanh Education Group, Dr Khamsene Sisavong, presided over the event alongside the Director of the Australian International School and Vice President of the Sengsavanh Education Group, Ms Sakdina Rosant.
The event was a definitive statement of AIS's commitment to redefining early childhood education.
At the core of this project is an unwavering ambition to build the most advanced and modern preschool in Laos.
The facility's design and infrastructure are being meticulously engineered from the ground up to create an optimal, stimulating, and safe ecosystem specifically tailored for early learners.

The Vice Mayor of Vientiane, Mr Phouvong Vongkhamsao, attended the ceremony together with the President of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr Oudet Souvannavong, and Deputy Director of the Vientiane Education and Sports Department, Mr Bounthanh Sengmany.
Business and community representatives were also present, including the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Laos, Ms Jacqueline Spence, and President of the Young Entrepreneurs Association Laos, Mrs Sovaly Khamphoui.
Directors and representatives from the Australian Chamber of Commerce, the American Chamber of Commerce, and several other public and private organisations also attended.
The groundbreaking ceremony marks not only the start of construction but represents a transformative investment in Laos' youngest generation.
