Amari Vientiane unveils “The Solar Refractors Gallery”
A vivid tribute to the Mekong River and local heritage.
Amari Vientiane, in partnership with the British Business Group Lao PDR (BBGL), announces the opening of “The Solar Refractors Gallery” on March 26, 2026 in Amari Vientiane hotel. The exhibition serves as an artistic tribute to the Mekong River and the Lao way of life.
The gallery features curated works from prominent local artists and artisans, including Ock Pop Tok, Willie, iCat Gallery, Her Works, Billie, Women with Disability Association, and Caruso Creations. Through various mediums, the exhibition explores the cultural depth and historical impact of the Mekong River on the region.

The launch event is designed to serve as a cultural and networking platform, bringing together a diverse cross-section of stakeholders. The guest roster includes ambassadors, government officials, corporate leaders, NGO representatives, and SME founders, facilitating cross-sector engagement within Vientiane.
Echoing this community-focused sentiment, Ms Sakkara Mahapho, General Manager of Amari Vientiane, emphasised the property’s role in the local arts scene. “We established ‘The Solar Refractors Gallery’ to utilise Amari Vientiane as a platform for the community,” said Ms. Sakkara. “By bringing the inspiration of the Mekong River indoors, we are celebrating both the cultural foundation of Laos and the exceptional talent of our local artists.”
Following the inaugural networking event, the art installations will remain on display in the Amari Vientiane lobby for a 30-day extended showcase. This allows the public and hotel guests to view the exhibition throughout the month of April.
