Lao Brewery Company supports personnel fighting wildfires in Vientiane

The Lao Brewery Company (LBC) is providing vital assistance to emergency personnel battling widespread wildfires across three districts of the capital, donating drinking water worth approximately 12 million kip.
On April 13, 2026, the Lao Brewery Company's Director of Corporate Affairs, CSR and Sustainability, Mr Sithixay Ketthavong, and representatives of the company’s mass organisations handed over Tigerhead drinking water to the Pakngum District Disaster Unit. The donation was received by the Chairman of the Pakngum District Administration Committee, Mr Keopaseuth Xaypanya.
The support is aimed at assisting officials and volunteers fighting forest fires in the Phou Khao Khouay mountainous area of Pakngum. The company has committed 100 packs of 1,500 ml Tigerhead water to each of the three affected districts – Pakngum, Sangthong and Sikhottabong.

The drinking water is essential for the well-being of teams working under gruelling conditions characterised by extreme heat and thick smoke.
The Vice Chairman of the Pakngum District Administration Committee, Mr Thotsakan Kaisonephet, noted that the fires began on April 10 and impacted more than 190 hectares of forest area.
A steering committee has coordinated the daily response, involving at least 150 personnel from district offices and security forces, and local residents of four villages.
The teams are currently using chainsaws, water sprayers, leaf blowers and manual tools to create firebreaks and suppress the flames.
Mr Sitthixay Kettavong said this initiative followed reports of wildfires spreading across Vientiane, from Phou Khao Khouay to Phou Phanang. Pakngum is the third district to receive this support.
The company highlighted that these fires cause extensive damage to forests and wildlife, while contributing to dangerous PM2.5 dust levels. The Lao Brewery Company expressed the hope that its contribution will help authorities bring the situation under control within the next few days.
