Cuba and Laos seek to build fairer society

Havana (Prensa Latina) – Cuba and Laos seek to achieve a fairer society that considers the human being as the center of its development.
Cuban Communist Party (PCC) Organisation Secretary Roberto Morales made that remark during the visit to Havana by Politburo member and Vice President of Laos, Dr Bounthong Chitmany.

Both leaders participated in this capital on Monday in the opening ceremony of the 2nd Theoretical Seminar between the two political groups, aimed at analysing the role of those organisations in human development to meet needs, preserve culture, and strengthen national values.
According to Morales, Cuba and Laos are united by the desire to build socialism with their characteristics as the only way to preserve national sovereignty.
The Cuban leader explained that the construction of socialism is a political and revolutionary task that must result from the development of the conscience and education of people for socialism.
Dr Bounthong expressed his country’s support for Cuba’s struggle against the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than 60 years ago.
The visitor recalled that November 24 will mark the 50th anniversary of relations between the two countries.
President Miguel Díaz-Canel, who described on his X account the state of bilateral relations as excellent, and expressed his interest in strengthening them, met with the senior Lao leader at the Palace of the Revolution (seat of the Government) on Sunday.
