LOCA becomes first company to provide EV charging coverage nationwide

Vientiane, Lao PDR — LOCA has become the first company to establish fast EV charging network coverage across all 18 provinces of Laos with a total of 78 stations, marking a major milestone in the country’s journey towards electric mobility and sustainable transport.
With 78 charging stations now operating nationwide and more expansion ahead, LOCA’s network is now the most extensive in the country.

The company said its next phase will focus on strengthening province-to-province connectivity, adding more chargers in high-demand areas, and working towards its long-term goal of placing a fast charging station every 50 kilometres or less along major inter-provincial travel routes.

The achievement is widely seen as a significant step for Laos’ emerging EV sector. Building a charging network across the entire country was once viewed as an ambitious goal that would be difficult to achieve, particularly across distant provinces and key travel corridors. LOCA’s latest milestone shows that such a vision is now becoming reality.

Souliyo Vongdala, Co-founder and CEO of LOCA, said the achievement reflects the collective effort behind the company’s growth and the country’s EV transition.

“This milestone belongs not only to LOCA, but to everyone who has been part of this journey. It belongs to the early customers who believed in electric mobility, the drivers who embraced the transition, the partners who worked alongside us, the team that made the impossible possible, and the communities across Laos that welcomed this change. Together, we have shown that Laos can innovate, lead, and build confidently for the future.”
Phonepasong Mixab, Co-founder and Co-CEO of LOCA, also thanked those who supported the company’s long-term vision.

“We are deeply grateful to all of our partners, stakeholders, and investors for believing in LOCA and for helping turn this vision into reality. Their support has been essential in reaching this point. We remain committed to growing LOCA sustainably and to supporting the continued growth of the EV sector in Laos.”
LOCA’s nationwide coverage is expected to further support EV adoption by giving drivers greater confidence to travel across provinces with more convenience and reliability. As the company continues expanding, the network is set to play an important role in connecting communities and helping shape a cleaner transport future for Laos.
