Laos Land Rover launches the New Defender 2026 MY, Redefining Rugged Luxury
Laos Land Rover has officially launched the New Defender 2026 model in Vientiane, introducing a plug-in hybrid SUV that combines advanced technology, luxury features and renowned off-road capability.
Launched on May 8, the latest Defender is powered by a 2.0-litre engine paired with electric technology, delivering 404 horsepower while reflecting the evolution of one of the brand’s most iconic vehicles.
According to Laos Land Rover, the New Defender 2026 blends more than 78 years of automotive heritage with modern innovation, offering enhanced performance, efficiency and driving comfort.
The new model retains the Defender’s distinctive rugged design while incorporating refined exterior upgrades, including advanced LED headlights, flush rear tail lights, redesigned bumpers and new-generation alloy wheels.
Inside, the SUV features a premium interior equipped with a 13.1-inch touchscreen integrated with the latest Pivi Pro infotainment system, alongside a redesigned central console aimed at improving convenience and user experience.
The vehicle also introduces advanced safety and performance technologies, including a Driver Attention Monitoring system and upgraded off-road features supported by the Terrain Response system to ensure capability across challenging terrains.
General Manager of Laos Land Rover, Nouchana Chaleunsouk, said the new Defender reflects the company’s vision of combining distinctive design with pioneering innovation to deliver a unique driving experience for customers in Laos.
The New Defender 2026 is now available for viewing, test drives and purchase at the Laos Land Rover showroom on Kamphaengmuang Road in Xaysettha district, Vientiane.
