The University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) hosts its 20th International Culture Festival, marking 70 years of international education in China. The event took place on May 16 at Cheng Xin Square, UIBE, Beijing. The festival promotes international exchanges and showcases the university’s global education achievements. Some 110 booths represented over 60 countries, including one set up by Lao students showcasing a Baci ceremony and traditional dishes such as papaya salad. |
A ceremony to mark the completed upgrade of Road 16B running between Dakcheung district in Xekong province to the Vietnamese border over a distance of 21km takes place on Tuesday, attended by Xekong provincial officials, officials from the province’s Public Works and Transport Department and other individuals associated with the project. The cost of construction amounted to more than 59 billion kip, financed by the provincial Transport Department, with the upgrade taking 30 months to complete. --Photo Lao National Radio |

Sponsors and donors come together for a fund-raising and merit-making ceremony to mark the start of construction of the remainder of a concrete road from Vat Philavong Bouthkassakaram Monastery in Champa-Pakhaed village to the Tadmoun-Nongtaeng road in Sikhottabong district, Vientiane. More than 5 billion kip was needed to build the high-quality road and members of the public, corporate sponsors, business owners, and representatives of the government and international organisations were invited to make donations to complete the work and to make merit together. |
