The Lao Red Cross last week receives a boost with the donation of three new vehicles from the Swiss Red Cross, a crucial step in strengthening the nation's blood supply system. The vehicles will be used to support the National Blood Centre and the Xaysomboun and Xekong provincial Blood Centres and are a significant addition to mobile blood donation units in Laos.

The Ministry of Education and Sports last week awards certificates of commendation to five teachers from the Chinju National University of Education in the Republic of Korea for their outstanding contributions to the improvement of education in Laos. Deputy Minister of Education and Sports Dr Dalavone Kittiphan presided over the event and presented the certificates. Also in attendance was the President of Chinju National University of Education, Dr Kim Sung Kyu, along with heads and deputy heads of departments, division and deputy division chiefs, other staff, technical officers, and other associated individuals. Dr Dalavone expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the five teachers. She acknowledged their dedication and help in essential areas of development, which she said had led to significant progress in the education system, making it more equitable and accessible.
