Lao, Thai firms jointly establish digital solutions company
The Soudaphone Import-Export & Service Ltd and D.T.C. Enterprise Public Company Limited have agreed to set up the D.T.C. Lao Co Ltd to support digital economies and other key visions for socio-economic development.
As part of efforts to promote practical action for the implementation of policies related to the digital economy and industry 4.0, the two companies from Laos and Thailand signed a cooperation agreement and established a new joint venture company.

The ceremony for signing the agreement to establish the new company was held in Vientiane on Tuesday, and the documents were signed by the Managing Director of Soudaphone Import-Export & Service Ltd, Mr Viengkhone Sitthixay, and the CEO and Managing Director of D.T.C. Enterprise Public Company Limited, Mr Thotspol Kunapermsiri.
Senior staffers from the two companies also signed documents to witness the signing of the cooperation agreement. The President of the Executive Board of Strategy and Planning at PTL Holding Company Limited, Mr Alounkeo Kittikhoun, was present at the ceremony.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of Soudaphone Import-Export & Service Ltd, Mr Viengkhone Sitthixay, said the establishment of the new company reflects the importance of modern technology, which is considered an essential tool for socio-economic growth.
“Laos aims to move forward to industry 4.0 and it is the clear determination of the government to implement various visions and strategic plans for digital economy development, including the 20 year-vison for national digital economy development during 2021-40, the strategic development plan for national digital economy for 2021-30, and a five-year national digital economy development plan for 2021-25,” he said.
He said the cooperation between domestic and foreign private investors in the digital sector complies with the policies and efforts of the government to take forward digital development visons and strategic plans nationwide.

Mr Viengkhone added that his company has a long-standing connection with D.T.C. Enterprise as trading partners and now it has become part of a formal joint venture with numerous products to be used in building infrastructure for telecommunications and the digital sector.
The CEO and Managing Director of D.T.C. Enterprise Public Company Limited, Mr Thotspol Kunapermsiri, said his company has decades of experience in the management of transportation, development of a digital mapping system with GPS devices, and IOT solutions for private organisations and government agencies.
He said the establishment of the new company in cooperation with Soudaphone Import-Export & Service Ltd will launch a new chapter of collaboration that will help the Lao government to implement its visons and strategies for digital technologies and digital economy in the years to come.
The new company aims to take up a number of activities to support infrastructure for digital technology, including Smart City Technology Platform, Smart Logistics, Smart Industry, Smart Building, GPS Smart, Smart Agriculture, and Smart Mobile App.
