The 2nd YIIEC Yunnan International Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition

In accordance with the talent development decisions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the requirements of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, and to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation with countries and cities along the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative, attract more outstanding talents, technologies, and projects from home and abroad to settle in Yunnan, and accelerate the convergence of innovative elements in Yunnan.
The Department of Science and Technology of Yunnan Province, Department of Education of Yunnan Province, Department of Commerce of Yunnan Province, Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Yunnan Province, Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, in collaboration with relevant departments, have decided to organise the 2nd Yunnan International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
The specific details are as follows: according to the industrial development needs of Yunnan, this competition solicits projects in biomedicine, modern agriculture, new materials, equipment manufacturing, green and sustainable development, new generation information technology, artificial intelligence, financial technology, culture, tourism, health, and others.
The competition is divided into three categories: Growth Group, Start-up Group, and Seed Group.
Enterprise (team) participants should have a strong willingness for innovation and entrepreneurship, clear goals for innovation and entrepreneurship, feasible innovation and entrepreneurship plans, and meet the following conditions.
Basic Eligibility: The competition strongly encourages participation from innovative entrepreneurs and talents in both the domestic and international arenas, particularly from regions such as South and Southeast Asia, Europe, and North America engaged in relevant fields.
Domestic and foreign enterprises or teams that intend or have already engaged in innovation and entrepreneurship in Yunnan Province are eligible to participate.
Participants can compete in three categories: Growth Group, Start-up Group, or Seed Group.
All members of participating enterprises (teams) must have no significant records of creditworthiness issues and no criminal records, and must comply with the laws of the People’s Republic of China.
The participating projects must comply with current legal regulations, and there should be no disputes regarding the existing intellectual property rights related to the current products and relevant technologies.
Group Participation Criteria:
Growth Group: Participating enterprises must be legally registered both domestically and abroad. Participating enterprises must comply with the regulations and have no adverse records. The business registration date of participating enterprises must be after January 1, 2015, and the primary entity of the participating project cannot be a publicly-listed company.
Start-up Group: Participating enterprises must be legally registered both domestically and abroad. Participating enterprises must comply with the regulations and have no adverse records. The business registration date of participating enterprises must be after January 1, 2021, and the primary entity of the participating project cannot be a publicly-listed company.
Seed Group: Teams, either domestic or foreign, that have not yet registered as companies and are still in the planning and creative stages of project development.
