Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Saleumxay Kommasith, representing Laos as the ASEAN chair for 2024 under the theme “ASEAN: Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience”, on Tuesday chairs the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting at the National Convention Centre in Vientiane. The meeting was attended by ASEAN foreign ministers, the Secretary-General of ASEAN, the foreign minister of Timor-Leste and other delegates. The meeting praised the progress made in implementating the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and the nine priorities stipulated under Laos’ ASEAN chairmanship to build a more connected and resilient ASEAN Community and enable the bloc to effectively address challenges and deliver benefits to the people of ASEAN.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security, General Vilay Lakhamfong, and his officials inspect the flood damage in Luang Namtha province.
