S. Korean, Lao companies bolster security in Vientiane

The people of Vientiane will be able to enjoy enhanced security, thanks to the donation of a Housing Solution Surveillance Camera by Gentop Co., Ltd. of the Republic of Korea and Laos’ Sirichalernxay Sole Co., Ltd.

President of Gentop Co., Ltd., Mr Park Hong Dae (left), and President of Sirichalernxay Sole Co., Ltd., Mr Soulixay Sayasane, address the handover ceremony in Vientiane on Tuesday.

In August this year, Gentop Co., Ltd. donated the same item and conducted a training programme on its use by the Ministry of Public Security. The donated items comprise a newly developed Security Camera Housing System which includes five CCTV cameras that can span a range of 360 degrees.
They come with a special protective cover and cases as well as IP based control systems that are manufactured by Gentop Co., Ltd.
Technical support for the system will be provided by Sirichalernxay Sole Co., Ltd.
The cameras will be used to enhance road safety and were donated following discussions between the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and the Asia Development Bank about improving road safety to achieve the Zero Accident and Zero Pollution goals by 2050.
The Housing Solution Surveillance Camera, which is worth US$51,000, was handed over by Gentop Co., Ltd. and Sirichalernxay Sole Co., Ltd. to the Ministry of Public Security in Vientiane on November 15.
The handover ceremony was attended by the Deputy Director General of the Cabinet Office, Brig. Gen Anoudeth Khounkham; officials from the CCTV Control Centre and the Department of Communication of the Ministry of Public Security; and the Director General of KOTRA Vientiane, Mr Kim Pil Seong. Brig. Gen Anoudeth expressed his appreciation to the two companies, saying “Laos needs to adopt more tech-based systems to prevent crimes such as drug trafficking”. He urged Korean companies to make further contributions to public security in Laos.

Representatives from KOTRA Vientiane, Gentop Co., Ltd, Sirichalernxay Sole Co., Ltd, and the Ministry of Public Security join for the photo after the ceremony on Tuesday in Vientiane.

Mr Kim Pil Seong said “KOTRA ESG+ aims to bolster its corporate social responsibilities such as technology transfer and equipment donation to Laos by private companies and public institutions in the Republic of Korea, hoping to expand partnerships with the private and public sectors in the mid- to long-term.”
“In this instance, Gentop Co., Ltd. has donated its products and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sirichalernxay Sole Co., Ltd. on cooperation in security-related fields in Laos, and the business is developing in the ideal direction of the ESG+ programme,” he added.
The Global ESG+ (Environmental, Social and Governance Plus) programme is implemented by KOTRA Vientiane.
