CSA Japan, JTUC RENOG, Sinfonia Technology Labour Union fund new school in Phonhong

The Japanese Trade Union Confederation, the Commission for the Solidarity with the Asian Underprivileged Japan or CSA (a Japanese NGO) and the Sinfonia Technology Labour Union have funded the construction of a new primary school complete with classrooms, staff facilities and toilets, in Nalao village, Phonhong district, Vientiane province.

The school was officially handed over to local authorities in Nalao village on Tuesday, in a ceremony attended by the Governor of Vientiane province, Mr Khamphanh Sitthidampha, Governor of Phonhong district Mr Sompasong Souvongkhamchanh, and the Vice President of the Commission for the Solidarity with the Asian Underprivileged Japan Mr Suzuki Takashi, President of the Sinfonia Technology Labour Union Mr Morioka Hideyuki and other guests.
Funding for the new school was donated by the Japanese Trade Union Confederation (JTUC-RENGO), Commission for the Solidarity with the Asian Underprivileged Japan or CSA (JAPANESE-NGO) and the Sinfonia Technology Labour Union through Laos’ Ministry of Education and Sports at a cost of US$116,858.87.
Construction began at the start of June last year by Inthone Construction Company and is now fully complete.
The school has seven classrooms along with all necessary facilities for teachers and children.
Providing new classrooms for children in the village is regarded as vitally important as they can enjoy learning in greater comfort with the new facilities. Children now have a comfortable learning environment which will motivate them to study.
The school is important for students’ learning and also contributes to the country’s development. It will motivate students to study harder and provide them with better skills.
The decision was made to build a new school following the increase in the number of children in the area, with Phonhong district authorities seeking funding support from various donors.
