Foreign affairs ministry gets new deputy minister

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on May 26, held a ceremony to officially announce the appointment of former Director General of the Consulate Department, Mr Bounleua Phandanouvong as the new Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
At the ceremony, Director General of the Personnel Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Ting Souksan unveiled a prime ministerial decree, which appointed Mr Bounleua as the new deputy minister.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Saleumxay Kommasith, director generals and other senior ministry officials attended the ceremony to witness the appointment.   
During the same event, Mr Saleumxay and senior officials also observed the appointment of Mr May Xayavong as the new Director General of the Institute of Foreign Affairs, replacing Mr Khamsuay Keodavong.
At the end of the ceremony, Mr Saleumxay congratulated the new Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director General of the Institute of Foreign Affairs, adding that their appointments were based on their outstanding performance.
He also urged the appointed officials to enhance their contribution and dedication to ensure the effective implementation of the Party and state foreign affairs policy in line with the task of national protection and development.
