Lao Front meeting to push for greater solidarity nationwide

The fourth of 10 sessions of the Lao Front for National Development (LFND) Committee’s plenary meeting will take place in Vientiane next week as a platform for discussions between central and provincial officials.
The thrust of the meeting will be the Front’s continuing efforts to strengthen solidarity across the country.
Deputy President of the Lao Front for National Development, Ms Khamchan Phomsaengsavanh, discussed the meeting at a press conference in Vientiane on Tuesday. She informed her audience that the fourth LFND Committee plenary meeting will take place from October 7-9.
Participants will hear about the work of the LFND’s committee and other activities that occurred in 2018-2019, as well as learn about the Front’s plans for 2019-2020.
Next week’s meeting will be attended by the presidents of the Front’s branches in each district of the provinces. They will broaden and deepen their knowledge so they can pass on useful lessons to local residents, Ms Khamchan said.
Participants will also hear about preparations for the 70th anniversary celebration of the LFND (13 August 1950-13 August 2020).
Representatives from the provinces will share their ideas about building solidarity in villages and improving the quality of life of local people, she added.
After the meeting committee members will visit a project aimed at creating solidarity households and villages, with the goal of easing the poverty of people living in Longxan district, Xaysomboun province.
