Party Central Committee discusses via video conference

The Secretariat of the Party Central Committee organised the first ever meeting via video conference to discuss working in the country.

The meeting focused on future preparedness at a time of emergency and ways to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. It also marked a new step in Laos' system for organising such meetings.

The meeting to report to the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee was held on April 7 at the office of the Central Committee under the chairmanship of Phankham Viphavanh, the Standing Member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat and the Vice President of Laos.

Several organisations under the party, representatives of the government, mass organisations, provinces and Vientiane participated in the meeting.

The conference is usually held every month, but it was held this month through video conference to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Representatives joined from three locations - the office of the Central Committee, the Prime Minister's Office, and Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union - through the video conference arranged by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications.

The meeting discussed the current pandemic, methods for prevention and control, and preparedness for coping with the Coronavirus.
