The Phongsavanh Foundation has donated medical supplies and consumer products worth about 66.56 million kip to Mahosot Hospital to help in the fight against Covid-19.

The goods were handed over by the Lao Front for National Development's Vice President, Mr Chanthavong Sene-amatmuntry, and a delegation to Mahosot Hospital's Director General, Dr Phisit Phoutsavath, during a ceremony held on Friday.

The medical supplies and consumer products, included 3,000 medical gloves, 300 bottles of hand sanitiser cleaning gel, 5,000 face masks, 10 electric hot water pots, 200 instant noddle packs, 200 water packs, 16 cereal packs, 16 coffee packs and 36 milk packs.

Dr Phisit thanked the Phongsavanh Foundation for its assistance and for providing the valuable supplies to the hospital as a contribution to the efforts to prevent and control Covid-19.

The Phongsavanh Foundation, which is concerned about the health of the people amid the Covid-19 pandemic health, handed over the goods to the hospital so that they can be used to provide medical services. It was also a contribution to the State and Party’s health-related works to provide better health services.

The Phongsavanh Group has made effective contributions to Laos’ socio-economic development, poverty eradication programmes, human resource development and quality of life improvement, and has contributed significantly to various aspects of societal well-being.

It contributes strongly to national revenue every year and, increasingly, has been involved in business and education cooperation with companies in Laos and other countries, media development, and cooperation with state sectors for poverty reduction in remote areas.

The Group has donated money and materials to ministries, organisations and local authorities, built schools, renovated temples, supported programmes to prevent droughts and floods, and backed national sports events.

It also provides easy and simple credit policies for government officials, soldiers, police, and local people to support small business operations and family businesses, which help to support income generation and poverty reduction with the purpose of improving quality of life.

Acknowledging these achievements, the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and the government recently awarded a National Medal of Outstanding Development to the Phongsavanh Group.

The Group has also received an Honorary Medal of Excellent Business Operations known as the Europe Business Assembly Award, Labour Medals (Classes I, II, and III), Certificates of Admiration, and Honorable Certificates from the government.
