University offers students help with online entrance exam registration

Students encountering problems with online entrance exam registration are being urged by the National University of Laos (NUOL) to contact it directly on 021 771 860 or view the instruction video via www.nuol.edu.la.
According to an anonymous official dealing with online registration, the university has set up a committee to advise applicants who are having problems with the process, which runs from July 1-30.
Applicants encountering problems with registration was the result of them not providing enough personal information to allow the system to generate a registration code, the official said.

Applicants need to bring the code along to the registration committee to get an entrance exam ID card, available for collection until July 30 at the university campus.
This is the second year of online entrance exam registration at NUOL, as part of efforts to facilitate fast and convenient processing of students throughout the country.
Students can use their smartphones or computers with an internet connection to meet the requirements of online entrance exam registration via http://entrance.nuol.edu.la.for the 2019-2020 academic year.
Students are awaiting the announcement of new intake numbers for the university’s 13 faculties as officials submit the final figures to the Ministry of Education and Sports.
The NUOL is expected to accept about 7,000 students this academic year, an official at the university told Vientiane Times. The actual numbers will be announced after the ministry delivers its verdict on the proposal.
The NUOL entrance exams will be held on the university in Vientiane on August 3.
University of Champassak entrance exams will be held on August 8, entrance exams at Souphanouvong University in Luang Prabang province are on August 17, and exams at the University of Savannakhet are scheduled for August 22.
Students registered to sit this year’s exams will be divided into three groups. Students will take tests in mathematics, literature, physics, chemistry, biology, geography and history.
All universities have set up committees to devise exam questions and monitor all students during the examinations to ensure procedural integrity.
